alright, the Athens chapter of the National Organization of Women is well on its way to being active again. Charter change check.

First time working with wordpress - like it a lot better than Joomla. Subbing mailchimp for CiviCRM (Andrew is the only one who’ll care about those details)

i would really like to talk to the lady who held the charter previously, but she’s kind of hard to reach.

in other news, did you know there is not Georgia chapter of N.O.W.?

do i sound like i’m 58 years old? i had one friend tell me to check out FMF or younger women’s task force. but i was all like, NO, i have the charter.

i don’t really know where to go from here, so i’m going to read the N.O.W. literature and work on planning the first meeting for Fall.

also, i have no idea what entries to write.

I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands and apply for the MSW and MNPO programs here. I’m waiting for Mitch to finish my last Americorps rec and then I’m going to work out that possibility.

I just can’t wait until I finally get all the placement and medical bullshit out of the way. Based on other people’s invitation SAGAS on the Facebook groups and Peace Corps Wiki, it might be next year. I’ve been saying October to other people and also trying to convince myself that this optimistic projection that I’ll actually leave on my nomination date is going to happen, but I’m not feeling that optimistic right now. I can’t kill time until the bureacracy decides to handle me. I’ve gotta get on with my life.

As a MNPO alum, I must say - it’s fantastic program! Go ahead and start thinking about what you’d like your concentration to be. Persuading professors from other departments allow entrance into their graduate courses is one of the toughest things about the program.

You can also go MSW and get the NPO certificate - which, if you’re interested in social work, is the best of both worlds.

so, i applied for this part time position at a local advertising/design agency to be part of a three person web team. i want it rrrl bad. my interviewers were my age and we laughed the whole time. i’m def qualified for the position, but there are 5 other applicants. i find out whether i have it or not on tuesday.

here’s the thing - they’ve both already added me on facebook! they’re too young not see that’s a potential faux pas, right - or, is it?  what does this mean?
